DeleteCan't manage to connect a wireless network. No menu pops out on the WinXShell network icon. Same goes for volume and all other icons in taskbar. Also cannot control volume from pc/laptop keyboard.

DeleteYeap, that nailed it. Very buggy experience with Classic Shell, tough. I changed a few setting and it freezes the pc, makes it restart the explorer, uninstalled it, cleaned the registry, reinstalled it - issue remains. I also tried Start10, StartIsBack and others, none seem to work. Any other Start Menu alternative?

Any ideea why some programs don't start automatically? I used Volume2 as a volume manager, tried to put it in startup as well, but it just doesn't start with windows.

It's not a lag of the start menu itself. The thing is, i changed the start button and i used a theme that i liked for Classic Shell and after it didn't respond anymore; by that i mean when i clicked the start button or hit the windows key, the pc froze for a minute or so,logged off and logged in again. In short words, ClassicShell was not functioning anymore, even after uninstall/reinstall. The only other start menu app that worked with this version for me was StartW8: https://www.areaguard.com/startw8
